Acne Treatments Inside and Out

There is nothing worse than trying to clear up an acne problem with products that only end up making it worse. This can be the case with some of the harsher chemicals and facial cleansers that claim to be the right acne solutions and yet tend to take away all of the oil on the face, leaving it too dry.

When this happens it only encourages the body to produce even more oil to moisturize the now dry face. So the oily issue can even get worse.

Best Acne Treatments

Usually just plain old, ordinary water is sufficient to keep the face clean and not too oily. Just rinse every now and again throughout the day and pat dry with a soft tissue that you can throw away afterwards for good acne control.

A tissue or paper face towel is better than using the same towel over and over again which could possibly harbor and spread any infection or bacteria.

This procedure also helps keeps any potential build up of dirt at bay. Keeping the pores free of dirt and dust particles that can be picked up from the hands whenever we touch our face helps to keep the pores of the skin free from clogging. And as you may already know, it is the clogging that increases the chances of an acne blemish developing.

Acne Diet

Of course it is not always only down to what we do on the outside that matters. Acne can arise as a result of the way we treat our bodies on the inside, particularly through the things we eat and drink.

Going on regular alcoholic binges is definitely not going to help, the same as for binging on chocolate, biscuits, sweets, fast foods such as fries and burgers and a diet rich in animal fats and processed foods. So how to get rid of acne includes  cleaning up the diet and our insides by having good helpings of water (yes, water again! A great natural treatment for all kinds of conditions), fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean meats and fish (even oily fish is ok since it is rich in healthy omega 3 fatty acids which are good for the skin). Don’t get me wrong.

Not all chocolate is bad. Organic is fine …. just leave out the refined sugar type as you find in most cheap commercial chocolates.

The other route to a spotty skin could be hormonal, as the hormones fluctuate up and down in the body, particularly for women who often get a regular monthly acne breakout which then often clears up by itself as the hormone balance changes back again. Taking herbal supplements to help hormone imbalances can help in cases where hormone related acne persists.
